kooma∙looma will present the results of its study on Turkish gamers at Gamescom 2016

Amsterdam, July 20th. kooma·looma, the coalition loyalty programme-as-a-service for mobile and web companies, announces the first results of its study on Turkish gamers.

As of January 2016 the kooma·looma loyalty programme has been made available through mobile payments to a cluster of 5.000 Turkish players of the most known brands of free-to-play desktop games. Through the loyalty programme, these 5.000 Turkish gamers collect points for each in-game purchase. The points can be used to redeem rewards such as mobile phone top-ups and other prizes. The research compared the in-game spending behaviour of users exposed to the loyalty programme to the spending behaviour of another homogenous cluster of gamers not aware of the programme. The first 5 months have seen gamers exposed to the loyalty programme spend on average 12% more than those who weren’t exposed to the programme. The introduction of the loyalty programme resulted also in a stronger retention of game players (10% higher after 4 months) as well as increased purchase frequency rates.

At Gamescom 2016, the world’s most important Game industry tradeshow, kooma·looma will present the full report of this research, including the effect of the Loyalty Programme on game player’s ARPU, retention, repeat purchases together with the Programme’s ROI figures.

kooma•looma Beta going live in Europe

Amsterdam, October 26th 2015. kooma·looma, the coalition loyalty platform, on the occasion of its participation in the Web Summit 2015 in Dublin, announces the launch of its services in Europe. The first markets to go live in Beta mode will be Switzerland, Portugal and Turkey where, thanks to the partnership with Onebip, web and mobile users will be able to earn loyalty points for their purchases on the main MMORPGs and game brands.

The first countries have been selected through different criteria, including demographics and spending habits of users, and taking into account differences in the mobile carrier billing market which are relevant to the partner’s business. More specifically Turkey has a very young and tech savvy population, many gamers and, at the same time, has a quite evolved loyalty program market. Switzerland instead has among the highest spending game players in Europe.

Massimiliano Silenzi – CEO: Has directed Onebip between 2011 and 2015, a mobile payments company offering mobile payments across 70 countries and 300 mobile operators to digital companies such as Badoo, Twoo, Gameforge, Big Point, Good Game Studio. He has also served as Director of France and Turkey operations for Neomobile (2010) and Director of Strategy and M&A between 2007 and 2009. He has covered business roles in TIM (Telecom Italia), in Ericsson Enterprise and at The Orchard in New York. Born in Tucson, USA, Massimiliano holds a BA in Business Administration, MSc in Marketing and a PHD in Management Sciences.

Simonluca Landi – CTO: Has a significant technical and business background. He headed Onebip product, projects and operations teams between 2010 and 2015. He has covered key technical management and development roles in Zero 9 (Mobile services provider acquired by Neomobile) and in Reply (Systems Integrator).
